Peru, indigenous youngsters await the possibility to continue documenting their communities’ reality and knowledge.
Last year, some young Quechuas from the rural areas of Ayacucho produced more than ten short films with great artistry.
“It is important that we can handle these instruments to be able to make our difficulties, as well as our peoples’ knowledge visible”, says Juan Pablo Quichua, who participated in the experience.
CHIRAPAQ has initiated a campaign through the internet portal betterplace.org, with the goal to gain funds to purchase cameras, which will permit these youngsters to continue with their audiovisual formation.
A little more than 4 thousand US dollars are necessary to see those enthusiastic filmmakers again tell their stories with cameras on their shoulders. You can help them, Visit betterplace.org.
