Indigenous Communication

With their own voice and image

The exclusion of indigenous voices by the mass communications media is evidence of the need to develop an indigenous communication that comes from the peoples themselves, to project themselves to the world. Within the framework of globalization, communication is a fundamental strategy to further the struggles for recognition of the individual and collective rights of indigenous peoples.

CHIRAPAQ promotes communication as part of its articulating web for the strengthening of the indigenous peoples and their organizations, as well as the construction of their own ideological and political outlooks in accordance with the history, reality and culture of these peoples.
